The Second Match

HEYSIDE JUNIORS 1 - 1 BURY GIRLS

A great game and a great goal, edge of your seat stuff.  Was nice to see the team bond together and start moving the ball around, everybody played well, especially the goalkeeper Eleanor and Aimee making some excellent challenges.  Danielle should have won the game after coming on as a sub and within seconds unleashed a fantastic shot that went over the line and was 100% a goal but in the heat the referee didn’t see it, but we all know it was a goal.  Hopefully we should see plenty of goals from our new striker in the coming months.

The First Match

 Curzon Ashton 1 - 0 Bury Girls

This game was a quick reminder of how we need to be ready to play from the start, to close down quicker and to focus on our challenges.  A fast goal was scored by Curzon as they were allowed to attack early and put pressure on us.  Respect to Curzon who were unlucky not to score again, but after this we started to play, we had some good chances and a near miss, an eye opener but a fast paced game.

The Third Match

WIRRAL HAWKS 3 - 2 BURY GIRLS

The drama continued in this match and we took a fully charged Wirral Hawks who were playing some great football.  They took the lead within seconds, mayhem in defence as they went 2 nil up.  We were making some silly mistakes but we didn’t give up.  We still tried to play football like the previous game; it took a bit for us to start playing.  I made some adjustments, the midfield seem to take a hold of the game, the team played with better organisation. Tiegan and Ellie pushed forward, Tiegan smashed home a goal on her debut.  The Bury support picked up the M channel TV crew started filming, Ellie with her short burst of skills took on Wirral with shoots and near misses the Hawks caught us on the break and scored, 3-1 but not down and out. With Nicole winning tackle after tackle it was no surprise we scored again.  Our midfield scored Ellie with a perfect goal with Mio narrowly missing and showing us her skills.  At the other end Tess and Leyla stopped any more goals with some brilliant defending.  You did us proud.

The Last Match

URMSTON MEADOWS 1 - 2 BURY GIRLS

We have been stood in rain, snow, hailstone, we have travelled across the Northwest.  We’ve been beaten, battered, we’ve got lost!!!! We have played with 5 players but we have never given up.  We have trained twice a week, rain or shine AND YES WE DID IT.

2 – 1

We played how we train passing movement, we dominated the game and we grabbed a dramatic winner.  All 10 players played a part in this game and I am really proud of what was a great day.

And I hope to see more in the coming weeks.

 WELL DONE!!
