Semi Finalists; Manchester Futsal Tournament 2008

The semi-final was a tough game against a team that was made up of coaching staff form the Manchester FA.  A team that wasn't beaten all day and won all their matches by numerous goals.  Bury fought their hearts out wanting a place in the final.  Unfortunately Bury conceded a goal that couldn't be pulled back.

Final Score

Bury 0 - 1 Joga Bonito

The winners of the tournament and representing the Manchester FA in the National Futsal Finals in Sheffield were Bolton, beating Joga Bonito 1-0 in the final.

Bury finished runners up in their league and went through to the semi final where they played the winners of the other league, Manchester FA's own team.

In the last league game of the tournament Bury needed a win to come top of the table, however they knew they were through to the semi-finals. A win would see them play the runners up of the other league.  It was a tough game as the fixtures weren't on our side, having to play back to back matches again. Bolton was up 2-0 at the half time changeover but Bury were determined to turn it around and they did coming out with a 2-2 draw at the final whistle.

Final Score

Bury Ladies 2 - 2 Bolton

After a rest between this game and the last Bury were up for another win.  Having beat Uppermill in the first game Bury maintained pressure knowing that they needed a win to have a chance of coming top of the table.  The team played well with some good passing and finishing and came out with the win they wanted.

Final Score                 Uppermill A 0 - 5 Bury Ladies

With no rest between games and the intense heat of the sun Bury made quick subs throughout the game.  It was a tough game as Bolton had fresh legs in their first game of the tournament.  There was end to end action from both teams but unfortunately Bolton just snatched it due their players not being as tired.

Final Score                Bolton Wanderers Ladies 4 - 3 Bury Ladies

The first game started with the players that played in last years tournament to show the others the high expectations and demands of futsal.  Bury quickly got into it with some good neat passing.  At the half time changeover Bury were

2-0 up, a few subs were made and the team continued to play well.
