Training takes place on Wednesday Evenings from 6 - 7:30pm at
Philips High School, Park Lane, Whitefield.
As well as having fun and developing social skills, our training is based on a third fitness, a third skills and drills, and a third match situation. You may be the most talented footballer ever to put on football boots but if you aren't match fit a less talented player, who is match fit will always outshine you over the course of the game.
This is why the fitness training stages of training are taken very seriously. A match maybe won at the weekends but to get that win it is actually done at training, were we know everyone's strengths and weaknesses and try to solve any issues regarding previous and forthcoming matches. You will always learn far more in a training session than you will in a match.
A fit team is a match winning team and therefore that is why it is important to come to training every week. You can't expect to just turn up on a Saturday and play for an hour if that's all the exercise you get all week. Training helps to improve your fitness, your speed, your strength and your stamina.
For us to develop as a team and as individual players, it is very important to come training.
A bleep test is done every 4 weeks, which is a track record of how all the players are improving their fitness and it is good to say that most of the squad are improving every month. This is brilliant and maybe soon we'll have all members of the squad improving and maintaining a high level of fitness.
