30/10/11    Brierfield Girls FC    v    Bury Girls & Ladies FC

After a bit of a delayed kick off due to some missing nets the game finally kicked off with Bury ready to continue their winning streak.  The first half was close, both teams played well.  Bury fired goal after goal at the Brierfield keeper but was unable to place the ball in the back of the net.  Eventually Kayleigh fired the ball in to the net putting Bury in the lead.  Soon to follow was Ash with a great goal.  Abbie making her debut in goal for Bury wasn't really challenged at all in the first half.

Bury kicked off the second half much stronger and dominated from the start.  With goals from Molly, Kayleigh, Alanis, Georgia and Ash.  The more experienced Bury girls looked unstoppable as Brierfield struggled to get passed Jem and Megan in midfield and with the defence clearing everything else.  Brierfield did manage to pull back a goal close to the end of the match but all in all Bury put on a brilliant show and the Bury supporters weren't disappointed.

Well Done Bury....Let's continue our unbeaten run....next game Walshaw

09/10/11    Bury Girls & Ladies FC    v    Academy Juniors FC

As we kicked off, Bury was on the ball, winning every tackle.  Then about 3 minutes into the game, Bury got a goal - a billiant goal from Beatie.  Bury still worked hard to get the ball and Academy Juniors (AJ) started to look tired.  We made some brilliant passes through the AJ players and passed the ball through to a Bury players feet every time.  Bury got another 3 brilliant goals.  With only 3 minutes to go until half time we got another goal..!!  Half time ended at 5-0 to the Bury girls.

We kicked off the second half.  AJ picked there game up, making some brilliant tackles, but Bury were too good and skimmed past their midfield.  Bury then passed the ball straight towards the AJ goal,  their defence did not get back in time to help their goalie, and Bury put the ball straight in the back of the net.  By the end of the match Bury FC had knocked another 5 goals passed AJ.  It was a good game, and the final result ended 10-0 to Bury.  The Bury goals were scored by Beatie 2, Kaylea 4, Molly 1, Ellie 1, Frankie 1 and Ash 1.

Everyone played brilliant.  We are still top of the league, come on girls, lets stay there!

02/10/11    Bury Girls & Ladies FC    v    Myerscough JFC

5-0 was a good result but doesn't really explain how much better we were than Myerscough. It was the best team performance I have played in since joining the club everyone was outstanding!  They couldn’t cope with our passing and moving and before long it was 1-0 to Bury from a goal from Beatie.  Then on came Megan who worked really hard and caused their defence all sorts of concerns along with Kayleigh and Ellie.  Resulting in a further two goals.  An own goal created by Meg and then a tap in by Meg.  At half time it was 3-0.

In the second half we carried on just where we left off!  We had lots of chances to score but there was lots of good saves from their brilliant goalie. In the end though we scored another two goals by Ellie who really deserved her goal after playing so well and Kayleigh. J ust a mention for Frankie who ran them all over the place in midfield, who had to go off injured after a nasty foul!  Hope she is okay.  We have now played four, won four scoring 32 goals and only conceding three! We’re top of the league let’s stay there for the rest of the season girls!

18/09/11    Cadley Girls FC    v    Bury Girls & Ladies FC

The match kicked off well with Bury keeping the ball in their possession for much of the first half.  The defence were strong and the Bury girls in midfield battled hard to make sure that the ball got to the feet of the Bury strikers. The first half ended 5-0 to Bury.

The second half kicked off with both teams playing well and with Cadley changing their goalie and the Cadley defence working hard Bury didn't find the second half as easy.  Becky was great in goal for Bury but the Cadley girls pulled back 2 goals.  It wasn't long till the Bury girls fired in another 3 goals including 1 from myself.

Good game everyone, we all played our best and we all get better and better everytime we play x

04/09/11    Academy Juniors FC    v    Bury Girls & Ladies FC

What a fantastic start to the new season for Bury girls under 13‘s team.  The sun was definitely shining for us today in Edgworth as we marched to victory with a 15-1 win.

Amongst the goal scorers were Kaylea, Ellie, Beatie, Frankie and Megan.

Congratulations girls and keep it up for the rest of the season.  A warm welcome to our new players Molly, Georgia, Jemima and Alanis.  We hope you enjoyed your first league game.  During the game there was some fantastic defending from Aimee, Erin and Jay. They all did exceptionally well, passing the ball ahead for their team mates to score. The passing was slick and the players worked as a real team. There was always someone there to receive the ball if someone was in trouble. It was great to see all of the skills we had been practicing being put to good use. Beatie and Ellie didn’t have much to do in net and we thank them for their patience.  Up front Kaylea showed some fantastic skills and there was wonderful passing and setting up of goals. Ellie, Ash and Megan showed their pace on the wings, and were always in space to pass to. Alanis and Molly made some brilliant passes into space with Jemima behind them winning the ball and working hard for her team on her debut.

Neil and Craig were delighted with our performance, and went home happily.
Well done today Bury, do the same next time.

Thanks Erin for supplying the match report, keep them coming.

Bury continued to show skill on the ball and although at times Burnley fought hard they just couldn't stop Bury and it wasn't long until Kayleigh scored a cracking goal, blasting the ball straight past the Burnley keeper.  COME ON BURY!!!!!  2-0.
Burnley attempted a comeback carrying the ball up the wing towards the Bury goal, but they were stopped in their tracks by the brilliant defensive partnership of Erin and Jay- Burnley didn't stand a chance!!!!  With Bury showing no signs of flagging, and remaining skilful on the ball, the ball was once again at Kayleigh's feet, and then fired straight into the back of the net!!!!
HAT TRICK KAYLEIGH!!!!!  3-0.
Burnley battled in vain to keep the ball but Bury were far too strong and quickly had the ball back at their feet, passing the ball between themselves brilliantly.  With a cracking cross from Frankie what came next was pure skill!!!  Ash looped the ball magnificently over the Burnley keepers head, placing it accurately at the back of the net!  GET IN!!!!!!  4-0 TO BURY.  The first half came to a close with Bury in the lead!!!

05/09/10    BURY GIRLS FC U12s (3)  V  WALSHAW U12s (1)

The start of the season was with us once again and the Bury girls were fired up and ready to impress the crowds by showing off the football skills they had acquired over the summer.  The game was dominated by Bury from the off, with ample missed chances to grab a goal, the ball hitting the bar several times and missed goal opportunities by nearly all the Bury girls on the field.  A goal in the first half was not meant to be and the first half frustratingly came to a close at 0-0.

The second half got underway with both sides attacking the ball hard equally determined to get a result, however it was Bury who finally turned the game around.  With some excellent ball play by the girls in midfield, the ball was soon heading once again towards the Walshaw goalkeeper, quickly intercepted by Frankie and crossed to Ash in the box, the ball was blasted past the Walshaw keeper and straight into the back of the net. THE GAME WAS ON!!!!!!  1-0 TO BURY.
Walshaw attacked the Bury defence determined to even up the score line.  Jay was excellent in defence and along with Aimee kept the Walshaw girls at bay for much of the second half.  However with only 15mins left on the clock, Walshaw equalised.  1-1.
Both teams fought hard but Walshaw were on the attack once again, and with Beatie donning the golden gloves for Bury doing an excellent job filling in whilst Eleanor was away, she fearlessly ran out to intercept the ball from the Walshaw striker who shot the ball past her.  The ball looked like it was about to cross the line, Jay ran from nowhere and cleared the ball preventing a second Walshaw goal.  Neil looked like he was about to have a heart attack on the sideline and the supporters could not believe it!!!!!  EXCITING STUFF!!!!
With 5mins left to play it looked as if a draw was inevitable.  Bury however, were not about to give up without a fight, and with some excellent passes and crosses from the midfield massive, Kayleigh blasted the ball past the Walshaw keeper!!!!  GOAL!!!!!! BURY WERE IN IT TO WIN IT!!!!  2-0 TO BURY.

COULD THIS GAME GET ANYMORE EXCITING???
 WELL YES IT COULD!!!!!

With minutes left on the clock Bury were not ready to sit back and take it easy!! They continued to battle hard and keep possession of the ball,  with a quick flick of the ball from Kate, it was once again at Kayleigh's feet and placed comfortably past the Walshaw keeper!  GET IN!!!!  3-0 BURY. The final whistle blew and Bury were the victors of the day.  WHAT A GREAT START TO THE SEASON-WELL DONE GIRLS!!!!

10/10/09        Burnley Girls FC        V        Bury Girls & Ladies FC

Bury overcame a determined Burnley team to record their 5th successive victory of the season.  Bury commenced the game on the attack with Burnley,  although putting in the effort,  not really challenging Megan, Frankie or Kate in midfield.  The Bury girls fired the ball continually at the Burnley keeper who to be fair was brilliant in goals and who saved Burnley from an even bigger defeat against the visiting shakers!  It wasn’t long until Kate gave an impressive strike on the ball and fired it straight past the Burnley keeper!!!  Bury goal!!!!  0-1.
The Bury girls were again soon on the attack with the ex-claret Megan blasting the ball from 20 yards straight at the Burnley goal, however the Burnley keeper pulled out all the stops and made a phenomenal save!!!  The ball was out on the field again and at Chloe's, feet who making an impressive run on the ball, shot it right on target, brilliant Burnley save once again.  Burnley briefly got the ball but it was intercepted by Jay, passing the ball to Megan who shot it to Kate.  Kate took the ball skilfully around the Burnley defence and fired the ball into the back of the net once again!!!!  the girl was on a role!  Bury goal!!!!!   0-2.
Burnley made a run on the ball only to be quickly intercepted by Jay who was sitting strong in defence and whom prevented Eleanor from really ever being tested in goal for Bury.  It was then that Bury produced a moment of genuine quality.  Jay passed the ball to Chloe who quickly shot the ball down to Frankie.  Frankie crossed the ball over to Megan who fired the ball down the line to set Kate up in a one to one situation with the Burnley keeper.  Kate was not going to let the prospect of a hat trick pass by, and blasted the ball straight past the Burnley keeper!!!  Bury goal!!!  0-3.
Amber now on the pitch and ready for action, picked up  the ball skilfully and passed  it down the field to Kayleigh who played the ball well but couldn’t get it past the Burnley defence.  Chloe showed good skill and control of the ball, and with Burnley giving her the space she needed,  she fired it straight past the Burnley keeper.  Bury goal!!!  0-4.
Bury commenced the second half once again on the attack,  without challenge from the clarets!  Maisie and Ashley were brilliant in midfield, keeping the ball in Bury’s possession.  Erin and Maisie made the Burnley midfield work hard giving them very little time on the ball.  Beatie was now off Bury’s superstar sub bench and look determined to continue Bury’s success.  She fought hard on the ball and effortlessly got around the Burnley players, crossing the ball over to Kayleigh who fired it past the Burnley keeper!!!  Bury goal!!!  0-5.
Burnley looked determined to pull something back and with what seemed like a last ditch effort took the ball down the field towards the Bury keeper,  however with a strike that hardly challenged Eleanor, a Burnley goal was not imminent!  Erin continued to show brilliance and got past the Burnley players with ease, firing the ball down the wing to the feet of Beatie, the ball was again blasted at the Burnley goal but went wide.  with the full time whistle fast approaching,  Chloe took the ball off the Burnley players once more and fired it straight on target, with Kayleigh putting her foot on the ball to ensure the goal went past the Burnley keeper to seal the victory!!!  Bury goal!!!!  0-6.
The game came to an end.  Had the Bury girls been on usual form,  more goals would have definitely been produced.  Well done Bury - keep up the good work!

03/10/09        Bury Girls & Ladies FC        V        Preston North End Girls FC

This was the game everyone had been waiting for, one of the biggest games of Bury’s season.  The girls waited with anticipation for the game to commence, and when it did, they came on fighting, determined to get a result.  Preston attacked hard from the off  but were quickly tackled by Frankie and Aimee who stopped the ball in its tracks.  The Bury girls fought hard with the ball passing between both the Bury and the Preston girls skilfully.  It wasn’t long before Preston got their lucky break and with the wind on their side the ball rolled passed Eleanor putting them in the lead.  PRESTON GOAL!!!!!  0-1.
Bury not at all fazed, attacked hard, with Megan and Frankie looking strong in midfield, it wasn’t long until Bury had possession of the ball.  The girls passed the ball brilliantly, attacking the Preston keeper from all angles.  With shots on target from Kayleigh, Megan and Beatie, a Bury goal looked to be  just around the corner.  10 minutes into the first half and the ball landed at Chloe’s feet, with a skilful strike on the ball, it was soon in the back of the net! BURY GOAL!!!!!  1-1.
Preston were not a force to be reckoned with and with strong passes of the ball, they were once again on the attack.  They flew the ball at Eleanor who showed just what a brilliant keeper she is by making some tremendous saves.  Preston however were not about to give up and with a blast of the ball,  it flew passed Eleanor and into the back of the net.  PRESTON GOAL!!!!!  1-2.
Bury battled hard, and with Ashlea now in midfield, soon gained possession of the ball, and made a fantastic cross to Kayleigh who flicked it towards Beatie.  Beatie didn’t need asking and with a strong strike on the ball, the Preston keeper stood no chance as it was blasted into the back of the net!  BURY GOAL!!!!!  2-2.
The whistle was blown on what was a very exciting first half.

The second half started with an attack on ball from Preston, they were on fire and determined to leave on a high!  They made some forceful runs on the ball and passed it beautifully between themselves keeping Bury on their toes.  Aimee was magnificent in defence and with the help of Chloe and Kate, they tackled hard to stop Preston in their tracks.  Kate made a fantastic strike on the ball from the half way line, looking as if it was right on target, only for the Preston keeper to make a tremendous save.  Bury fought hard and the ball was soon down the field and at Beatie’s feet.  Beatie brilliantly buried the ball in the back of the net!  BURY GOAL!!!!!  3-2.
Preston were quick on their toes and before Bury knew it they blasted the ball passed Eleanor to produce another PRESTON GOAL!!!!!  3-3.
The final whistle was only five minutes away but the Bury girls were not willing to walk away with a draw!  Preston attacked hard quickly firing the ball towards the Bury keeper, Jay was quick on her toes and intercepted the ball with skill.  Bury gained possession again.  Maisie, Ashlea and Beatie attacked the Preston keeper hard.  However it was Chloe who was to seal Bury’s victory blasting the ball straight past the Preston keeper  from outside the box..  BURY GOAL!!!!!  4-3.

20/09/09        Bury Girls & Ladies FC        V        Westbury Girls FC

The Bury girls proved just how strong a team they were in a game that kept the supporters on the sideline entertained for the whole 6o minutes.  Westbury started the game choosing to play defensively and continued to do so for much of the first half.  Ashlee, Kate and Amber battled hard in midfield to get past the Westbury girls but they were strong in defence and any goal scoring opportunities created by Bury were intercepted.  Just as the first half was nearing a close Bury got the break they needed,  and with some skilful ball passing between Megan, Kate and Ashlee, the Bury girls were able to get the ball down the field and land it straight at Beatie’s feet.  The opportunity to take the lead was too good and with some fancy footwork, Beatie got past the Westbury defence and buried the ball right at the back of the net!!!  BURY GOAL!!!!!!!!   The first half came to a close with Bury leading 1-0.

The 2nd half commenced with Bury on the attack!  Maisie and Frankie fired the ball at the Westbury keeper who was quick on her toes and made some fantastic saves!  Bury shot the ball at the Westbury goal over and over again but the ball just wouldn’t find the back of the net!  Westbury, not ready to take a defeat lying down, picked up momentum and fought desperately to get past Jay and Aimee, who proved to be too strong a partnership to break down.  Bury were back on their feet again and with Megan and Frankie and Maisie making some skilful tackles, the ball was back with the home side.  It wasn’t long until Beatie, once again with the ball at her feet, blasted it straight past the Westbury keeper and into the back of the net!!!!   BURY GOAL!!!!!  2-0.

Westbury wasn’t about to give up and quickly fired the ball at Bury’s keeper Eleanor who saved the ball with ease!  Kate fired ball after ball at the Westbury goal only to keep hitting the bar! The Westbury girls could no longer keep the Bury girls at bay and with the final whistle fast approaching, Beatie fired one final ball straight at the Westbury goal and into the back of the net!!!!  BURY GOAL!!!!

22/09/09        Walshaw FC Girls    V        Bury Girls & Ladies FC

The start of the season was here once again and the Bury girls roared onto the pitch ready to continue last seasons unbeaten run.  From the off, Bury dominated the game with Beatie, Kate and Megan firing one ball after another at the Walshaw keeper who made some tremendous saves.  Walshaw fought hard but failed to get past Bury’s mighty defensive duo Jay and Aimee.  Amber and Megan tackled hard stopping the Walshaw girls in their tracks.  A Bury goal looked imminent and it wasn’t long before Megan made an excellent cross landing the ball at Beatie’s feet, who never one to miss a goal scoring opportunity, blasted the ball into the back of the net!!!!!   BURY GOAL!!!!!!!!  The Bury onslaught continued with the girls dominating 85% of the first half, however the Walshaw keeper was on her toes and the first half ended Walshaw 0 - Bury 1.

Bury made a few changes at half time with Ashlee and Maisie joining the Bury girls in midfield, and Amber now taking on a defensive role.  The Bury girls looked fired up and it wasn’t long until Beatie blasted a second goal past the Walshaw keeper who stood no chance in saving it.  BURY GOAL!!!!!!

Ashlee and Maisie attacked the ball hard and fired the ball continuously on target but the ball just would not go in!  Walshaw made a brave run on the ball managing to break down the Bury defence and with a powerful strike, the ball flew towards the Bury net but luckily straight into the hands of Bury’s super goalie Eleanor!!! What a brilliant save!

Bury gained possession of the ball once more and with it firmly at Ashlee’s feet the ball was once again at the back of the Walshaw net!  MAGNIFICENT BURY GOAL!!!!!!

The mass onslaught continued from all of the Bury girls and with Megan now back on the field making another excellent cross to Beatie it wasn’t long before Bury U11's current highest goal scorer soon buried the ball once again past the Walshaw keeper!  BURY GOAL!!!!!

With the final whistle fast approaching, the Bury girls fired the ball time and time again on target with Beatie managing to sneak a cheeky goal past the Walshaw keeper in the last few minutes!!!!  BURY GOAL!!!!!

The final whistle was blown with the game ending WALSHAW 0 - BURY 5.

WELL DONE BURY GIRLS!!!!!

29/03/09    Bury Girls & Ladies FC        V    Wigan Athletic Girls FC

THE BURY GIRLS SHOWED EXCELLENT FORM IN A GAME THAT KEPT THE SUPPORTERS ON THE SIDELINE ENTERTAINED FROM START TO FINISH. WIGAN STARTED THE GAME ON THE ATTACK WITH SEVERAL GOOD RUNS. AIMEE AND JAY WERE KEPT ON THEIR TOES BUT THE PARTNERSHIP IN DEFENCE WAS TOO STRONG AND KEPT ANY POTENTIAL WIGAN GOALS AT BAY! IT WASN’T LONG UNTIL THE BURY MASSIVE TOOK CONTROL OF THE GAME WITH SOME FANTASTIC RUNS FROM THE BURY FORWARDS. BEATIE, FRANKIE AND KATE ALL CONTINUED TO FIRE SOME FANTASTIC SHOTS ON TARGET BUT THE WIGAN GOALIE WAS STRONG AND MADE SOME FANTASTIC SAVES. MEGAN AND ASH ON THE WING TACKLED HARD AND MADE SURE THE BALL STAYED IN THE POSSESSION OF THE BURY GIRLS SHOWING GOOD SKILL ON THE BALL. WIGAN FOUGHT BACK HARD AND MADE SOME STRONG STRIKES ON GOAL BUT ELEANOR WEARING THE GOLDEN GLOVES FOR BURY WAS QUICK ON HER FEET AND MADE SOME BRILLIANT SAVES. THE FIRST HALF CAME TO A CLOSE WITH THE SCORE BEING 0-0.

THE SECOND HALF COMMENCED WITH A STRONGER LOOKING WIGAN SIDE WHO PROCEEDED TO DOMINATE THE GAME FOR THE NEXT FIVE MINUTES KEEPING ELEANOR AND THE DEFENCE HARD AT WORK. AMBER BATTLED ON DOWN THE WING TO PULL BURY BACK INTO THE GAME WITH BEATIE PICKING UP THE BALL TO MAKE AN HEROIC RUN THAT SHE FINISHED BY BLASTING THE BALL RIGHT PAST THE WIGAN KEEPER AND INTO THE BACK OF THE NET!!!!! GOOAAALLLLLLL!!!!!! BURY WAS NOW FIRED UP AND WITH IMPRESSIVE GOAL ATTEMPTS FROM MAISIE IT LOOKED AS IF BURY WOULD SOON SCORE AGAIN. WIGAN FOUGHT BACK HARD BUT WITH THE BALL BACK AT BEATIES FEET IT WASN’T LONG TILL SHE SCORED ANOTHER CRACKING GOOAAALLLLLL!!!!!!! THERE WAS NO STOPPING BURY NOW AND WITH A FEW SUBSTITUTION CHANGES THE GIRLS WERE READY FOR MORE ACTION. WITH CAZ NOW UP FRONT THERE WAS NOTHING TO STOP BURY CONTINUING THIS FINE FORM. ASHLEY AND MEGAN CONTINUED TO TACKLE HARD AND MADE STRONG PASSES TO CAZ WHO FIRED THE BALL AT THE WIGAN KEEPER WHO MADE SOME BRILLIANT SAVES. JUST AS THE GAME WAS COMING TO A CLOSE MEGAN BLASTED THE BALL IN THE BACK OF THE NET TO SEAL THE BURY VICTORY!!!!!! GOOAAALLLLLL!!!!!!!!! THE GAME ENDED 3-0 TO BURY!

WELL DONE GIRLS YOU ALL PLAYED BRILLIANTLY!!!!!

BURY’S BEST PLAYER OF THE MATCH - BEATIE!!!!

21/09/08    Bury Girls & Ladies FC            V        Inter Mill Girls FC

The match was unlucky for Bury but the team played well and they got the tackles in and the clearances needed.  Bury Girls just needed the team to attack and score, we pushed up the pitch and the pressure was on but the goals just didn't happen.  Mill Hill played well they got the attacks in and although Bury's defence was good they managed to score.  Bury were very unlucky, our goalie Eleanor made some excellent saves and she had a brilliant game.  We needed more support upfront to get the goals needed so we can work at this in training.

We had a new team member playing in the game called Amber and she fitted in very well, she got some important tackles in and had a good first game.

The Bury Manager was upset that we lost the game but was happy with our performance.  We had lots of support from Mums, Dads, Grandparents etc about 20 people came to support us.

We are looking forward to our next game....  Come on Bury  Come on Bury!!!!!!!!

13/09/08     Manchester United Girls FC        V         Bury Girls & Ladies FC

The fixture list saw us drawn out to Manchester United away, which was always going to be an exciting and tough game.  The weather was perfect for football and with Manchester United's ground staff doing an excellent job on the pitch it was definitely the perfect setting for us to play football. Bury started brightly with plenty of passes and put lots of pressure on Man Utd.  Beatie controlling the midfield and taking on Man Utd at every chance in this fast paced game.  Bury looked the more likely to score in the opening 10 minutes and Katie and Jay making their debuts made it really hard for Man Utd to attack.

Ashlea played upfront on her own and had some good opportunities but with Man Utd's two best players playing in defence it was always going to be tough but she did really well in pushing forward.

Man Utd stepped up a gear and unfortunately went 1-0 up, but it didn't take long for Bury to get back in the game with some excellent tackles and clearances from Aimee we was able to break Man Utd down.

Ashlea picked up the ball in midfield laid it off to Beatie who was able to get the better of the United defence and with her quick feet and excellent skill was able to shoot from long distance and the ball screamed into the back of the net.

BBBBBBBBEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAATTTTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE THE BURY GOOOOOAAALLLL MACHINE!!!!!!!!! HITS HER FIRST GOAL OF THE SEASON AND OOOOHH WHAT A BEAUTY.

The players went crazy, 1-1.  Both teams continued to play neat and tidy football,  both teams had chances and the football was free-flowing and highly charged.  United scored again just before half time 2-1.

At half time I spoke to the players about team effort and never giving up, I made a change of taking a defender off and putting on a more attacking player, to give us more options in front of goal.  I really believe that the players we have could go on and win this game.

The second half started off well with Bury matching Utd all the way with a couple of dodgy hand balls from United and Bury getting nothing.  Manchester Utd were given a corner which they took short and caught Bury sleeping, the ball went in the back of the net 3-1, a touch lucky for United but we need to be more focussed.  We continued to frustrate them and push forward this showed with the amount of free kicks we where given in the 2nd half.

Maisie took Man Utd defence on and again we were unlucky not to score.  We got a direct free kick just inside the area which Beatie took and smashed into the top corner 3-2.

Eleanor made some brilliant saves in this game and is getting better with every match, she kept us in this one.  In the last few minutes Man Utd scored again 4-2.  The game was entertaining and the team did us proud.

I would also like to thank the brilliant support we took to Manchester United.

09/03/08    Bolton Wanderers Ladies FC    V     Bury Girls & Ladies FC

Outstanding, Unbelievable ……… and ultimately so gut-wrenchingly heartbreaking.  How else could you sum up Bury’s best display of the season?

A bright start for Bury with some good passing and strong defences play unsettling the Bolton team that surprisingly beat us at home only a few weeks ago.  Bury bossed the game from the outset, soaking up any Bolton pressure.  Yet with the luck of the field, the wet soaky pitch, some how and with disbelief a Bolton attack that lacked any pressure or threat of a goal was bizarrely deflected into the roof of the net.

As manager I had to get the team focused and back on track, they responded brilliantly.  The football was neat and tidy; the hard work on the cold Wednesday night was starting to show.  We needed to beat the odds believe in the coaching team, do what we do in training.

The passing was brilliant, three; four passes neat two touch football.  All we needed was a goal.  That came with an excellent piece of team play and the ball was unleashed into the back of the net.  All the players and supporters celebrated like an FA cup winner.

The team bonded, smiled, we battled, we tackled, and we scored again 1-2.  We was on a high after a few tough tackles and a few injuries the team where put under pressure.  A good save from our keeper and a missed opportunity to go 1-3 up, the last 5 minutes seemed to last for hours.  One moment of magic from Bolton and a shot like a bullet they equalised 2-2.

Manager’s notes

The team were un-lucky not to get 3 points, we deserved to win and from this point on we should be able to climb the league.

BURY FANS – 14 (Thanks for the support)

14/10/07    Bromley Cross Girls FC V Bury Girls FC

This match started with Bury running the show and looked like the stars they will be. They were so unlucky not to be three or four up in the first fifteen minutes. Corner after corner shot after shot but the Bromley Cross keeper was in tune and kept all efforts out.  Bromley Cross against play went and scored and Bury with their heads still high went looking for the leveller but couldn't find it.  Against play again Bromley Cross went and scored another.  Half time Bromley Cross 2 Bury 0.    The second half started with Bromley Cross believing in themselves with a two nil lead.  Bury tried there hardest but things just wouldn't turn our way.  Bromley went on to finish the game 5- 0. A great effort by a Bury team with a result that flattered the opposition.
