Bury Girls & Ladies FC were invited to attend the 'Kick it Out' event at Bolton Arena on Tuesday 28th October as part of the 'One Game One Community' Weeks of Action.  The event was organised by the Lancashire FA.
The Team of Channy, Lucy, Gemma, Emma, Ashley and Lizzie represented Bury in the Open Age 5-a-side tournament against Blackburn Rovers, Dalton Girls & Ladies FC and Bolton Wanderers.

The girls played 7 games of football over the course of the day and between them scored a massive 26 goals.

The girls made it to the final against a very strong Blackburn Rovers side.  This was a very exciting game with both teams giving it their all to win.  Unfortunately, it wasn't going to be Bury's day as it seemed everything was going against them.  As they took the lead decisions were given that allowed Blackburn to equalise.  With the final whistle about to go the Bury Goal Keeper found herself pinned against the barrier and unable to save the last shot.  Final score Blackburn 3  Bury 2.

Never mind girls you put on a fine show of your footballing ability and Bury are proud of you.

The event concluded with a presentation at the Reebok Stadium.  The girls received medals and LFA nick naks.

Pictured above the team with some strange 'Lion' creature they met.  Below Channel M interview Gemma and Lucy for their TV coverage of the event.  Let me know if you see them on TV.

Can you beat that?

Guess who was in the most pain at the end?

I'll give you a clue 'Miss Sick Note' isn't smiling.

It was nice of BWFC to provide us with our transport home.  What do you think to the new Bury Girls & Ladies FC Team Buggy?
